Pigadakia
Almost in the Center of Zakynthos and in its fertile plain is the village of Pigadakia. The name is due to the sulphurous springs available in the area. The Local Community has 394 inhabitants. In Pigadakia, it is worth seeing the Church of Agios Panteleimons, located at the northern end of the village. It is a 15th century Church and today it has the form of a small chapel. Beneath the Holy Altar there is a sulphurous spring and the inhabitants say that its water is stirred when there is a liturgy. Here, they operate: the Vertzagio folklore museum which demonstrates the rural occupation of the inhabitants and the "SPORT CENTER" SPORTCENTER for the purpose of sports and entertainment for the inhabitants of the village and the wider island.
